So what will your beginning look like? Is your table set? Is there Shabbos music playing? Is there calm, peace, serenity, tranquility in the home? Is everyone getting ready, and will you be ready early? Will Shabbos find you waiting for her, or will she find you scrambling and running, and she's waiting for you? Everything follows the first.
We're also told that Tzaddikim say there's exactly seven days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, which is the length of a week.
Because each day of that Aser Yisrael Meit Shuvah, each day of those seven days in between, correspond with that day of the whole year.
And we have the ability to be mechaper, we have the ability to be mesakein, we can atone, we can correct whatever mistakes we did for that day of the whole year.
So if on Fridays we're running, scrambling, yelling, running late, then this Friday, today, it is Erev Shabbos.
If ordinarily we're running and scrambling and yelling, then this one we can be ready, learn, read a story, sit on a couch, be with family, make a phone call, check in on someone.
