The week in headlines 9-25 to 10-1. What a crazy busy week! Artificial Intelligence, more corruption than you can shake a stick at, continued abuse of power, and a brand-new level of gaslighting and…

I thought that the funniest story of the week was the gotcha moment in the Jack Smith testimony on – what day was that? Wednesday.

Jack Smith was the special prosecutor assigned to look into the Trump documents case, like where he held on to classified documents, which was really pretty cut and dry.

And the judge threw it out on procedural grounds, saying that the special prosecutor was not correctly appointed, which is total bullshit.

Uh, and then he had to drop all those cases, uh, without prejudice, meaning that, that we can revisit them, uh, when Donald Trump won this last election and took over as president, because if they hadn't dismissed the cases without prejudice, they would, they would get dismissed with prejudice.

Just for fun, those would be cases that he wouldn't have presidential immunity from.

Anyway, Jack Smith is testifying before Congress because the Republicans have decided that what better way to distract Americans from their failing economy and the never-ending war and their unpopularity before an election than to talk about the last presidential election.

Anyway, Senator Eric Schmidt of Missouri really thought he had Jack Smith on the ropes.

And he started questioning about going to a basketball game, an Atlanta Hawks versus Golden State Warriors basketball game on a specific date, February 3rd, I think it was.

And that was the day after Fannie Willis had to admit that she was having an affair.

She was having an affair with one of her investigators, and that got her thrown off the case.

And that case thrown out because, you know, doesn't change the fact that all of this happened.

They just keep ruling on Trump's behalf using procedural arguments because it's easy.

He was at this basketball game, and he was talking to somebody who wasn't even at the game, for the record.

But it turns out, Jack Smith was just like, what? What are you talking about? No, I wasn't at that game.
