Swiss captain Granit Xhaka is under investigation by prosecutors over allegations he obtained a forged COVID-19 vaccine certificate.

It might have been the week before where major players and coaches and stuff had got these forged certificates.

And I believed it when it came out because I'd had first-hand experience of this in terms of people that I knew that I'd spoken to.

Now, I'll be honest with you, I refused to get anything forged because I refused to play along.

But I know that many people did to try and maintain their careers and stuff, which I understand because as an artist and particularly as a sports person, you've got a short career.

So for me to say, do you know what? I'm going to take two years of not flying, two years of not traveling about and stuff.

But if you're a footballer, particularly one that's, Granite Jacket would have been late 20s at that point.

You've got a finite career, right? So I'm not judging, but I can understand why people, you know, went and did this.

It's always 33, isn't it? The 33-year-old is alleged to have obtained the certificate in 2022 when it was required in Switzerland for some travel abroad, which, of course, he would need as a footballer if he's travelling around the world, what have you.

The public prosecutor's office... of the city of Luzern confirmed the investigation was underway to determine whether any criminal behaviour took place in obtaining a false or forged certificate.

Now, it'd be interesting to see what happens here, actually, because Xhaka is, you know, he's their top cap earner internationally.

He's a captain in the Premier League, which, you know, Switzerland don't get many footballers captaining clubs in the Premier League.

They're a decent footballing nation, Switzerland, but they're not, you know, Brazil or whatever.

But they will seek to make an example of him because you can't be seen to be able to beat the system and get away with it.

The Sunderland midfielder who played for Arsenal at the time posted a statement on social media on Monday saying he had a mistrust, correctly, towards the vaccine and had been influenced by worries and uncertainty.

Now, while he's correct to have had a mistrust and to have been uncertain about the vaccine...
