Hey squadies, welcome to this week's Just the Tip.
Today you have me, Kim, to share a quick trip to the coastal Pacific Northwest town of Yachats, Oregon.
So don't be confused with that when you see it, if you're going to look it up, which I guarantee you will after you hear this episode.
It's where this rugged volcanic shoreline meets lush coastal forest.
Really seeing those two juxtaposed against each other is a gorgeous sight to see.
And now I know why.
And when you go, you will understand it too.
It has this dramatic scenery, but it has a very laid back atmosphere.
And it's worth the drive over the coastal ridge into this beautiful town.
Unlike many of Oregon's beach towns, Yahats really is defined by its rocky, basalt coastline.
It's rather wide, beautiful sandy beaches.
Visitors come here because they want to see these powerful waves crash against these sea cliffs.
They want to explore the rocks and the colorful tide pools and just take a beat and enjoy themselves.
It is a very, very relaxed vibe.
In fact, that's most of what I did when I went here.
You come here to take in the views, go for a stroll, take it a little slower, hike around.
There's lots of trees and the coastal ridge is right there.
So plenty of opportunity for hiking with these beautiful coastal views and forests.
Pretty easy, and if I could do the drive, squaddies, you can do it too.
