**Transformation Tip** “The greatest enemy to success is success.” — Steve and Pete Success can create a dangerous sense of comfort. When things are going well, it can be tempting to ease up…
And that's kind of what we want to be able to look at today in today's episode, because we're looking at... how do we maintain standards? Okay.
How do we keep ourselves to the right levels? Do we just accept mediocrity or are we going for excellence? And so we want to begin to just kind of discover, explore, discuss around this.
OK, well, the thing to remember overall theme here is the moment when things are going well is actually when you become most at risk.
But that's the beginning of decline because it's, you know, one of the pictures I always use is like a treadmill.
And when you, a slow moving treadmill, but when you say, Oh, we're finally there and you'll park it.
Well, before you know it, the progress has moved on and you're, you're falling back.
Like how do we raise our standards when it's a lot easier to get comfortable? Now, real quick, I do want to reference, though, just a few episodes ago, episode 12, we did a different episode on performance standards, but that was really more about developing a culture of excellence.
This time, in this episode, we're going to talk a lot more about execution and how to actually make it happen.
Well, there are three keys that we want to start with, three concepts, when we're looking at standards and how to reach and supersede the high standards that they're there.
And they're worth saying out really clearly because this is about doing the job right.
Okay, not just for you, but if you can get hold of it, it actually needs to work itself out to the people around you, to your teams.
Okay, so in order to hit the standards, you have to stay focused and measure what actually matters, not just what's easy to track.
You know, everybody's getting along, everything's doing okay, and it's just kind of very general.
