Orach Chaim 443:1-2 Status of Chametz on Erev Pesach

And what is the halacha regarding Chomets after six hours.

Says the Mechaba.

Chomets Sh'meshesha Solomala.

Chomets, from the sixth hour onwards, Be'yom Yudaled, on the 14th of Nisan.

You can't get any benefit from it.

And even a non-Jewish person, you can't get any benefit of it.

They were worried.

This is, we'll see in the Mishnah, this is Minat Torah.

And Chazal prohibited it even two hours earlier.

From the beginning of the fifth hour.

Therefore, you can sell it still to a non-Jewish person.

That he's certainly not going to be able to consume all of it before Pesach.

you're allowed to do that.

You can give it to an animal to eat and all these forms of Hanoh.

But if you give it to the animal, so long as you're standing over the animal, to check that the animal is not going to store away some of these Chomets, and you've got to make sure that you'll get rid of any Chomets which is left over.

But from the sixth hour onwards, then it's Asa Bahanot.

Okay, let's do the Mishnah Torah up until there, just to explain the background.
