TMPA- Texas Minute- October 9, 2026

• **TMPA Joins Governor Abbott Across Texas for Law Enforcement Appreciation Month** — TMPA joined Governor Greg Abbott throughout the week for Law Enforcement Appreciation Month, beginning at the Governor’s Mansion before continuing to Houston, San Antonio, and Fort Worth. From executive leadership to field representatives, TMPA was present at every stop, ensuring Texas law enforcement officers had a seat at the table and a voice in discussions impacting their profession. We thank Governor Abbott for his continued commitment to supporting Texas law enforcement and listening to those who serve. • **Blue Grit Podcast: Why Open Dialogue Matters with DA Mike Holley** — After TMPA raised concerns about a plea agreement involving a deputy-involved shooting, Montgomery County District Attorney Mike Holley joined the Blue Grit Podcast for a candid conversation about accountability, communication, and victims’ rights. The discussion examines why the deputy wasn't contacted before the plea agreement, what changes followed, and broader concerns surrounding progressive prosecution. TMPA believes in demanding answers, holding decision-makers accountable, and recognizing when meaningful dialogue produces real solutions. • **TMPA Challenges Pasadena Councilmember Over Accusations Against Officers** — TMPA is pushing back against Pasadena Councilmember Emmanuel Guerrero following public accusations against Pasadena police officers. TMPA has disputed the accuracy of his claims and demanded that he identify his sources and provide supporting evidence. Public officials must be held to the same standards of accountability they demand from law enforcement. **Name your sources. Show your proof. Or retract the accusations.** TMPA will continue protecting the reputations, careers, and rights of the officers we represent.
