This Week in Yellowstone National Park
Jul 2, 2026 · 40 min · 14 segments
This week in Yellowstone National Park, from July 2nd to July 8th, 2026, I will let you know about the 4th of July in and around the park, try to encourage you to stop and smell the flowers, and then…
It was not a slow week last week.
First thing I want to talk about is last week's snowfall.
Obviously, it snowed over the weekend last weekend, and it snarled some people's plans.
As of yesterday, you know, Tuesday, I record this on Wednesday.
As of Tuesday, the 30th of June, all roads in the park were open.
Everything was back to normal.
And that could be the last snowfall until September.
We'll see.
We never know.
And, you know, who knows.
But That snowfall was definitely threw some people for a loop.
Those of you that went in the park last week, despite the weather, I'm glad you did.
It looked awesome.
I'm glad, you know, we got more snow here.
I'm going to talk about the positives of the snowfall later.
But for now, just wanted to update everybody on that.
One of the other news stories I wanted to briefly talk about was the bison attack that happened at Mud Volcano.
As far as I know, everything is okay.
Obviously, it's never a good thing to get attacked by a bison, but they don't attack without reason.
So as always, stay 25 yards away.
Say something.
Use that opportunity as a time to educate.
If they react negatively to you, then walk away.
