On today's News Brief: President Donald Trump announces the firing squad execution of the Fort Hood shooter will not be livestreamed, Israel Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon speaks out…
President Donald Trump announced the Pentagon will no longer live stream the execution of Fort Hood shooter, Nidal Hasan.
Hasan, a man of Palestinian descent and former Army physician, killed 13 and injured over 30 at an attack at Fort Hood, Texas in 2009.
On Thursday morning, the president posted to Truth Social, "I think streaming the execution for all to see might have been a strong deterrent for the world to witness how America deals with terrorists and scum like Hasan.
But many very good and well-meaning people would rather not watch him die through streaming or through any other visual device.
He will die as scheduled by firing squad, but this event will not be streamed." Hasan is set to become the first person to be executed by firing squad by the US military since 1945.
The execution is scheduled for December 3rd at the same Texas base where Hasan opened fire with a laser-sighted handgun in a medical facility.
