Episode 362: Songwriter and artist Tenille Townes is a certified star in Canada where she's won heaps of awards and seen her moving songs top the country charts. In over a dozen years in Nashville…
Tenille TownesGuestCraig HavighurstHostShe calls this album the fruit of a period of transition and personal redirection that all pivoted around breaking up with Columbia Nashville, the major label that took her on in 2018.
With them, she released one EP and the debut album, The Lemonade Stand, which did great in Canada, but it was ill-timed in the States as it was released in the heart of the pandemic.
Eventually, she chose to take her own path and set up a studio in a spare room in her house.
As she made demo recordings of her new material, some of her biggest and most notable supporters told her it sounded great.
And when she tested her audience about whether they would purchase, oh, 300 vinyl LPs that she was planning to press, well, I'll let you hear that from her.
Tennille came over and we sat down and I asked her about the Canada-America thing and about the country Americana thing, and we had a great time.
