Written and directed by John Patrick Shanley, who just won an Oscar for writing Moonstruck.

Joe Banks works in the worst office ever put on film, and then a doctor tells him he has a brain cloud and a sort of made-up condition and six months to live.

So he quits and agrees for reasons that only make sense inside the film to jump into a volcano on a small island in the Pacific.

Most of the way there, his boat sinks in a storm, and he ends up adrift on a raft he's built out of four steamer trunks lashed together.

He's got a raft and a moon, and the thing that comes out of him isn't fear and it isn't a bargain.
