Jul 18, 2026 · 2 hr 23 min · 13 segments
This episode of The Squeaky Wheel is all about the music of Act I: The Lake South, The River North. We're joined by our wonderful guest Joan to gush about the album that started it all! New podcast…
Brian BergYay!
And we will be joined by a lovely guest.
And it won't be just the two of us this time, we have a guest with us who will have the chance to introduce themselves in a bit.
But basically, this episode is focusing, like Blue said, on the music of Act 1 specifically, so a little bit about the background behind the album, I guess a little bit about how The Deer Hunter started, not super in-depth because we don't have time for it, but a little bit about how the album was created and the music itself.
So as most The Deer Hunter fans know, at least a lot of us, there's a lot of lore to the acts.
It's a concept album.
And there's a lot of stuff happening, I guess, behind the scenes a little bit.
There's a story and everything, but that is a separate episode because we do not have time to have that in a single episode.
So that will be later.
So this episode specifically is focusing on
It's also really important to know that we will talk about the lore a little bit because there is no separating those two things.
everything that has been done for every single act has been with intention either to evoke emotions or to connect it to a part of the lore and so we will still be dissecting those but through the lens of the music specifically rather than talking about the story as it's told or laid out separately through the graphic novels or as explored on different forums
