Joel, and Jonny dive into the Dappled Forest in the latest Minecraft snapshot, chat villager capes, and wandering trades in listener email, and share their first impressions of poplar wood. Show…
Absolutely nothing, Joel.
I'm afraid that this week was just too hot to be in my office, uh, for the Minecraft Survival Guide to progress, so I have not played a ton this week at all.
Uh, I'm still planning an episode where I'm planning to go over all of the different sulfur cube variants and archetypes and, uh, trying to decide where and how I can use them in my world, whether that's for, like, more kinetic-feeling builds or if I wanna make, like, a little, you know, football area that's part of an aesthetic build, but I could just go and kick a ball around a field if I wanted to.
Um, I did check out the snapshot, so I'm about to publish a video where I explore that and give my first impressions of that.
But of course, more about that later in the show.
Unfortunately, that's me for the week.
So it's over to you, uh, to tell us what's new on the Citadel.
So I've been focusing on the, uh, villager trading hall wings that I was designing last time, and I had to move all the villagers in and then finish up all of the renovations 'cause the two new wings had some different designs that I really liked.
And one of the older wings, uh, which was the original one, which had s- the villager breeder and the, uh, the original villagers for quartz in it, uh, I had to go and renovate that.
But the floor is a little bit different in that because I had just tried different designs, and I like the newer designs that I have, uh, in, in the wings.
So I'm gonna try to change the floor of the, of the storage area to be a little bit more interesting.
Uh, th- and I have these, like, sunken power conduit designs, and right now, in each of the wings, there's two of them, one going down each side, and in the storage room, there's just one going straight up the middle.
And while it does make it pretty easy to spot the storage facility, I can also just look at the shulker boxes on the wall and be like, "Well, there's the storage." So I'm gonna switch it over to having the two power conduits, and I, I'm not gonna put the consoles down the middle because I, I walk back and forth across the storage room constantly.
So having something to then avoid and, like, walk around would just be a real pain.
Um, I might put one or two, like, power nodes or something, I'm not sure what to call them, uh, in there just for decorative purposes.
But most of the time, I don't want something to have to walk around in the storage room, so I'm gonna try to avoid that if I can.
Uh, it was something that, um, I feel could have been better, I guess, just in terms of the overall, like, RNG of it.
Most of them were, were okay as far as the movement of them, and the villager breeder was a little bit slow, but it still worked fine.
Uh, it wasn't amazing at, like, the pickup and the drop-off stuff, but, like, I know enough about mine carts and things like that that it wasn't a big deal.
Absolutely nothing, Joel.
