So who are you? What do you do? And if you have a fun fact about yourself or in general, the floor is yours.

Yeah, so as we said, my name is Abolish Regret, but people call me Abolish.

I am a Minecraft content creator who makes a variety of content both on Twitch and on YouTube, as well as people know me for being in different SMPs, especially in recently a POW SMPs with Vampires, Cowboys, and now Pantheon.

You've made quite the name for yourself, I must say.

I would feel like I've made my name moderately known.

And eventually you get opportunities after enough time and dedication, you get lucky enough to put yourself in that position where you get invited to something like a big SMP or a big project.

And that's just how I view it as is like players can play and you need to be a player if you want to play in these bigger SMPs.

Because, for example, something like Hermitcraft, right? A lot of those creators, incredible creators, but also they play Minecraft like they're drinking water.

You see where that fails in people ultimately like Maggie Hamilton, who they don't know how to manage that element of it.

And a lot of the stuff we've just talked about there, right? As someone who is a video game streamer who was doing a session at TwitchCon this year on history in streaming and stuff like that, one of the things that came up in that as questions was, as always, is how do you manage the boundaries of parasociality? How do you avoid those situations where you're too close to your fans or not, you know, but they want to be closer and everything else? And it resonates with me when we talk about things like doing a benefit that...

Those are concepts and boundaries that would have been just as familiar to an actress in the 18th century as they are to a video game streamer today.

So even though we wouldn't put your average streamer or influencers into the category of celebrity, they are in many ways facing the same challenges.

... okay, which is a big part of Twitch.

Which interestingly what happens in the real, in real life streaming is these creators that might have been sitting in their room streaming now are out often together collaborating, interacting, and experiencing life together, and that's being streamed, okay? But of course the viewer who's sitting and watching, and you see this interestingly at TwitchCon, the beauty of TwitchCon is all these people show up and they meet these folks they've never met before.

All sorts of these connections end up becoming what I'll call real world friendships.

Um, I love to tell a story.

I was at, at TwitchCon on a panel with a bunch of advertisers and I had two creators.

And I said, "Tell me a story about something interesting that happened with your community." I had no idea this was gonna come like this, and one of them said, "Well, just last week I went to a wedding of two of the people that met in my community."

Wow.

Streaming on Twitch, for sure.

I recently fell in love with it again after TwitchCon last year.

I wasn't going to go to TwitchCon, but I was very, very convinced to go.

But just being around the streaming community, it just it just felt like my people, you know, like we have the same sense of humor.

I went to a bunch of community meetups again, but the networking, the networking was will get you when you make friends in the space it really makes all the difference um so yeah i've been really loving streaming these days and then my youtube channel is like looming over me you know like to go back because i haven't posted a long form video in a very long time um and so there's just you know that that little voice in the back of your head that's just like it's Come back.

But I mean, that's, like, that's kind of, like, a ton of people in LA are trying it, right? I remember, I remember going there.

The, I went there for a, for, what, TwitchCon, whatever it was, and I went to a restaurant, and 'cause I was in Japan mode, I was like, "Oh, do you mind if I film there?" To the waitress.

Don't give a fuck.

And, and she was like, "What?"

Yeah, but you guys always go for just TwitchCon, right? Or VidCon or whatever it is.

It's Twiz...
