I'm Corey Choi, founder of The Dash, Emmy Award-winning sound mixer and owner at Silver Sound Studios in New York City.

What if we started an audio competition where contestants only had 48 hours to create a two-minute piece? And what if the pieces had to be 100% created from scratch? That means no pre-existing music, no sound libraries, no archival material, and no generative AI.

That idea became the biannual Sonic Dash, where twice a year, contestants from all over the world have 48 hours to create short audio pieces.

Up for grabs is $1,000 cold hard cash and industry-defining software and hardware, the same hardware and software that we use ourselves in our Emmy award-winning studio we give out as prizes.

Today, we're listening to When I Wake Up by Arun Shetri and Alex Strong, Team Azalea.
