[laughs] I think most people have bought into that at this point, but then the how do we actually do it and how do we do it well is the hard part.

So tell us about what does that storytelling and the trauma-informed piece in storytelling.

storytelling.So, like we're talking about, there's actually being in danger and then there's the perception of being in danger, and this is rampant in storytelling, right? So if you are a story owner, and I'm gonna talk about three different kinds of people in relationship to story.

The story owners, these are folks that are bravely sharing their story, but might not necessarily have the mic, right? So right now I'm a story owner, but you, you- this is your platform, so you would be the storyteller.

You're the person that is taking this story.

And so I love how your background spans such different topic areas.

But the through line is the storytelling and the writing.

Right.

I did not set out to be an executive speechwriter.

I knew I wanted to be a storyteller.

And I thought that storytelling was going to be as a sitcom writer and creator in Hollywood.

But I soon discovered that there are other places to inform and entertain people.

Yeah.

Oh, it's so difficult to choose one book.

I talked about storytelling and you asked about the books that help people become good L&D leaders.

So one book I think that combines these two things is The Leader's Guide to Storytelling by Stephen Denning.

It's a text that teaches you how to use storytelling, how to use organizational narrative to spark action, to make people understand what their core values should be, and how to navigate change in a corporation.

So that would be a great book.

Storytelling-wise, you gotta stop at some point.

Storytelling-wise, I get that.

But you're... you're kind of cheating your show of a great actor.

Like Reginald's voice is just so iconic.

Cause I think, I've been thinking about it as a wave, you know, I live in LA, I like the beach, but I think we're like, You know sort of mid crest on a wave, and so I think we're gonna over the next two years, really get closer to that crest of the wave, where, then we might have this so I think about.

Things like the women's world cup things like la 28 really doing that, but I think about emerging leagues like unrivaled and a US cell and I just think the storytelling.

and the momentum behind those leagues, coupled with all of the shine and the buzz that the W will get from LA 28 and that the NWSL will get from the Women's World Cup.

So I just think you're going to have a lot of confluence of like, Um, energy to, to continue to grow the existing leads and a lot of energy to buoy some of those emerging leads, like the world surf league with the Olympics.
