How do you respond when seasons shift in your life? Do you continue on as if nothing’s changed, or do you do what’s necessary to meet the present moment? In this episode, I discuss how to get honest…
Chrystal Evans HurstHostAnd the question that you should be asking in your life if you wanna grow up is, what season am I in, and am I doing in this season what will prepare me for the next season? God wants to do an overflowing, abundant work in your life, but in order for you to do that, he has to have you in your right season doing the right thing so that you are being prepared for what he has in store.
Have you ever felt frustrated because life wasn't moving the way you expected? It wasn't moving, like the next season wasn't coming you thought? Or you were trying to operate like you did in a different season and it's just not working? We see it all the time when we see two pigs fighting under a blanket in a dress a woman should not be wearing any longer.
What if the exhaustion, the confusion, or the resistance that you feel is not proof that something is wrong, but what if it's a signal that something has simply changed? So number one, have you ever been frustrated 'cause life wasn't moving? Number two, are you feeling exhausted, confused, or just like life is against you and you feel like something is changing? Do you feel like something is shifting in your life? And number three, are you trying to be that girl, the one who's gonna force a season that God is asking you to wait for him to bring it to pass? Are you doing too much? I want you to think about that because if you are in any one of those three categories, my bet is you are out here not happy wearing these Shoe Deal shoes.
And many women are quietly asking themselves, me included, "Why does life feel heavier? Why do things that once worked no longer seem to be working? Why do I feel like I'm behind, and why am I tired even when I'm trying my best?" Our first instinct often will be like, "Something is wrong with me." But what if nothing is wrong with you? What if something is changing and God's timing...
And women who are mature and understand how life works, they learn this truth: every season deserves a different version of you.
The question is, are you smart enough, spirit-filled enough, aware enough to recognize when the season is changing? Often the discomfort that you feel is the signal that something needs to change.
Just go to God and say, "What do you need me to see? What do you need me to do differently?" 'Cause I don't wanna be walking around in my life in some Shoe Deal shoes.
You may have patterns that you need to change, but your life, if you are living, if you're breathing, you still get to choose, and overflow is a part of the container that God wants to see you carry in your life.
God is not ever asking you to deny the reality of your current life, but he will ask you to trust him inside that season.
