Encore: 'Girls with Balls': A breakdown of the French horror-comedy volleyball film

All right.

So I'm going to give a brief description.

This was a, like I said, a film from 2018.

It was directed by Olivier Alfonso.

Written by Jean-Luc Canot and Olivia Afonso.

And the movie is about a women's volleyball team named the Falcons who must fight for their lives against a group of degenerate hunters after their van breaks down in the middle of nowhere.

I think that's pretty much it.

That's pretty good.

You've got some team rivalries.

Yeah.

You know, teammate drama, blood and gore.

Yeah.

And it's perfect for Halloween.

Yes.

The film stars artists Manon Azem, Luis Blancher, Teefine Daviau, Anselene Hatté.

I apologize.

I'm horrible.

I'm not French.

Camille Rosat and Margot Dufresne.

So they're obviously all French actors and actresses.

So they're the main characters.

So we're going to start the opening scene.

is a man dressed as a cowboy who looks a little like Taco from The League and narrates the film kind of in song, kind of like the Farrelly brothers in the movie There's Something About Mary.

I don't know if you guys have seen it.

I don't
