So I want to kind of talk about the slow erosion of reality that happens with psychological abuse.

who might be questioning their own experiences, because I think a lot of people in any situation are like, is this really happening or what is really going on? What does this actually look like in day-to-day life?

Well, for me, when I asked for the divorce from my ex-husband, I didn't think that I was psychologically abused.

I had no idea that I had been so conditioned to take the blame and assume fault in all situations.

And it was six months into separation that a woman contacted me to tell me that they had been having an affair and that he actually had another girlfriend.

And when I confronted him, instead of remorse or trying to explain himself, I mean, he went on the attack.

And he started attacking me and making all these false allegations against me, telling people I had been having affairs and that I was turning our son against him.

And, you know, as things escalated and the legal battle escalated and some of the behavior that was going on, I started to research.

You know this is something that's happening, but they're telling you, absolutely not.
