Sydney FC's Ben Garuccio - Preparing for the Sydney Derby

Hey, we're, we're expecting 35,000 in attendance on, on Friday night, and I asked Dylan this yesterday, Ben as well.

Um, like, I think the, the, the, the most comparable, uh, sort of rivalry that we've got in the NRL is the Roosters and the Rabbitohs, Sydney FC versus Western Sydney Wanderers.

And I asked him, it's y- it's, it's such a great way to kick off the season.

But because there is such a great rivalry, would you probably prefer to have a couple of runs on the board before you get into it? Or, or is it just the perfect way to start a, an A-League season, mate?

mate?No, I think that's the, it's a perfect way.

I think, you know, uh, fans are, are pretty brutal in the f- in the sense of, you know, if you lost your first couple of games, maybe a few of them would go, "Oh, maybe it's, maybe it's not for me." So I think the way to start it i- is like this.

Good point.

I feel like, you know, Western Sydney are obviously full of hope in, in, you know, turning things around from last season, and I think, you know, us being at home, uh, we'll pull a big crowd.

So yeah, it's, uh, it's a perfect way to get it started, and you saw with the Australia Cup last week, uh, with Victory and South Melbourne and kind of the way that all unfolded, I think it's, uh, it's been a perfect segue.

So yeah, hopefully we, we get even more than 35K in Allianz on Friday.
