Ben Garuccio

well your friends the football will be there

And welcome back to another episode of Football Friends with Ben and Steph.

We're both very refreshed after the international break.

A week off for you and it seemed like you were at an event every single day.

Like, sometimes you need that little bit of... fire, whether it's the next team, whether it's a point to prove to someone, whether it's just a point to prove to yourself, and that's when you play your best or you get the results.

I know we said it will only be short, so the last one for me, and this could be a little bit of a long-winded one, and it wasn't part of our questions.

I don't know if you've got anything after this, Ben, but...

I just wanted to know, I guess, for you personally, you've been in the NPL, you've been in the A-League, you've had stints, I think it was in Europe, and kind of then come back to the NPL A-League.

Who knows?

Allow Be- allow Ben Gu- Garuccio to not play.

[laughs]

Oh, no.

Oh, God, I've completely blanked.

Someone else.

Um, and [laughs] back four of Garuccio, Overy, I think ahead of Grant, unfortunately, and Popovic, JCP, and then obviously, uh, Deveridge-Mears in goal.

I don't...

A goal after five minutes.

And he's spoken in the past couple of weeks to Stefan Mork and Ben Garuccio's podcast on how his manager, Philippe Clément, has driven him to make his finishing elite.

Not just very good and very capable, but...

Top, top class.

Left wing back, not so much.

I think it will be strongly debated, but I wouldn't be surprised to see someone like Gersbach or Garuccio get called up to the squad just because of how decimated that left back spot is with injury.

Yeah, and even Alex Gersbach, who has experience with the Socceroos, And look, Garuccio, they're both fine players.

But I just...

For me, I'd rather see someone like Callum Elder, who has been playing well for Lincoln.

Oh, that's a top goal.

Stefan Mauk, that is extraordinary from Ben Garuccio.

Hello, hello, hello, and welcome back to the Football Friends pod with Ben and Stef.

It's Ben here.
