Fences is the title of today's podcast, and I hope it'll make sense to you before we finish today.
As a way of kind of introducing this thought, I want to tell you a story.
Way back in the 90s, the late 1990s, it was my great joy to get a dog that we named Abby.
Abby was given to me by... a young man that at that time was in my Sunday school class.
And he's now, um, he's, he's now runs a business down in Oxford, near Oxford, Mississippi, um, training retrievers and sporting life kennels is the name of his.
Here's a shout out to Marty Roberts at sporting life kennels.
And it was a gift for Marty was kind of a gift.
Marty wanted to get rid of this dog because he had another dog that he was taking all of his time to train and care for, and he was a young man.
He adopted or sort of rescued this dog, and she really didn't have any bad problems, but he just couldn't keep her.
And at that time, I was Marty's Sunday school teacher, and he just wanted me to have her.
really bad.
And he talked me into it.
As I recall it, she had heartworms.
And so we were going to treat her for heartworms.
She wasn't affected badly by it, but heartworm treatments expensive.
And anyway, I took in Abby and Abby is arguably the best dog I've ever owned.
She was an amazing dog.
And so the stories I could tell about Abby are so many.
And I'm embarrassed to tell, I would be embarrassed to tell anybody how much money I think I'd write a check for if I could get Abby just like she was in her prime back right now today.
She was an unbelievably good person.
dog.
She was a great retriever.
She was super athletic.
She just understood what she was supposed to do.
