You need to be a few inches deep and very broad in your understanding of organizational operation and concepts of existence.

If I talk to you about quality, you would say quality needs to be understood by everyone, except data.

So you look at me and go, "John, I'm not clear what you mean." Well, I'll use an analogyIt's obvious to understand if you did not understand all of these connections, you would be unable to exploit opportunities, manage risk, and lead the organization.

But to be clear, the handoff or the lateral movement is reserved for actual work.

You have an obligation to understand your data ecosystem where AI will be applied and the levels of understanding and all the processes and stuff touched by that.

You need to understand that your direct reports and their direct reports have to manage who makes decisions and how they use data, and that includes legal stuff and ethical stuff.
