Three teams and three victories means a Victory Pod! And all three wins came in dominant fashion, with the biggest coming from Highland Park coming against cross-district rival Deerfield. We talk…
But Joe, So let's start things off here in the first quarter by talking about football week seven.
All of our teams are looking in pretty good shape at this point about heading into the playoffs.
Highland Park football, though, faced a very good test, you know, rivalry crosstown matchup against Deerfield after picking up a win against Evanston and losing to Glenbrook South.
Kind of curious to see what Highland Park would look like, you know, with the division opponent's similar team.
And, Joe, you saw Highland Park take care of business pretty easily against their crosstown rival.
They won 37-18, got the offense going, and the defense came up with a bunch of good stops as well.
It seemed like Highland Park was trending at a little higher speed than Deerfield, but you never know.
uh highland park really really put it on their rivals it's a big win for them especially on the road um i think they proved that they're the class of that that brand spanking new central suburban central
and um yeah they're the team to beat so they're you know they're looking to go uh back to back i think yeah i don't think they won it three years ago uh back to back conference champs and undefeated again in that in their conference
Yeah, and obviously, you know, with the different division, obviously different opponents.
And they did by playing complementary football, Joe, especially in the first half where, you know, Highland Park runs out to a 23-0 lead.
Um, they pick up some, uh, they, they score on, uh, they score early into the defense comes up with a couple of, uh, nice stops on following drives.
And it seemed like both sides were just kind of playing off of each other for most of the night, but especially in the first half there.
And I think really their ground game is where they want to put it on you and then open up other things.
They can really, with a couple different styles, whether it's John Bowman's bruising style and I'm running through tackles or Gustav crane kind of scrambling out of all and design runs, but I'm running from the quarterback position and, and Zion wood gets it done too, with a little bit more of a slasher type.
