usage guy it was really just him and Dylan Williamson were the team at Towson and now he comes into a big 12 situation where his usage usage is going to go down but his talent and athleticism I think is what you're still going to be able to see some of that playmaking at a they list him at six nine he's every bit of that Tyler Tejada is so uh it's a it's a team that is built out of the portal but with principles of retention from guys at utah state

i really like the age with this group i feel like there's a lot of guys that have played a good amount of college basketball a lot of these guys are are really advanced metric starlings if you look at some of the guys like eric mahaffey from akron travion carson i thought he was really good um you know he didn't score that much but he was just really really good on the glass in that ohio state game but um cincinnati has played a few exhibitions this summer talk about the ohio state game and then also they played some games in the bahamas what have you seen from them as they they're starting to gel because this will be the first time that illinois plays a team that doesn't have the same jersey as them so it seems like at least you know from from that standpoint cincinnati has at least played some games against some non um opponents outside of themselves so how have they looked so far and like you said have they played that kind of up and down style that you're you're expecting them to play

yeah the games in the Bahamas I don't take a ton away from them just because the quality of competition was so low the one thing I did take away from one of those games I went back and charted every single one of Cincinnati's shots in one of those games I believe it was the first one and I believe it was something like 90 of their shots in game one came within the first 15 seconds of the shot clock and Almost all of those were within the first 10 seconds of the shot clock, which again, it's easy to do that when the quality competition is not very high.

He understands what it means when you need him to be in a high-usage situation.
Paul FritschnerHOST
11:23
When you're giving him the ball, and this is Tyler Tejada I'm talking about, when you're giving him the ball and he needs to just go and try to make a play, he's done that for multiple years because it was h- him and Dylan Williamson at Towson.
Paul FritschnerHOST

Those were the two.

Outside of them, To- Towson didn't really have a lot.

The best in the state got the pedigree and all that and they're just waiting for their opportunity and I don't want to say all the time but very often maybe more often than not they step up to the challenge and they're ready to and that's Aiden Collins in this he this wasn't his first big game.
Joe CoghlanHOST
11:29
He's I think he scored last week maybe and you've seen Dylan Williamson step up as well in that tight end role.
Joe CoghlanHOST
11:34
So they've had guys being able to fill that tight end role, which is such an important part of that Loyola offense.

All right, Joe, let's get to our third blowout of the weekend, and that was Nutrier at Main West, where it wasn't that too long ago where I feel like Main West was always kind of a tough little competition, but obviously things have turned a little bit here, obviously for Nutrier as well, where Nutrier totaled 56 points for the second time this season, third time they've scored 56 points or more in a game this season with a 56-7 win over Main West.

If it's not Maldonado ripping off 80 yards, 70 yards, 60 yards, whatever it is, it's Matthew Lee finding somebody for that distance.

I think Dylan Williamson, their young tight end, junior tight end, had another big uh touchdown uh i think 66 yards mckinley had two maybe um and i don't know if how he caught a big one today but he's been in the mix before and maldon obviously had three so um all three big ones and i think all of matthew lee's touchdowns uh their junior star quarterback i think they were 50 plus i might be wrong in that but they were big dogs um all of them were explosive plays he might add four actually anyway Big plays, explosive plays.

I think that offensive, they got that new coordinator this year, has really been able to get guys in space and openings, and Matthew Lee's found them.
Michael DwojekHOST
15:49
That seems to be the major difference here, doesn't it? I feel like we're used to this Loyola offense where it's kind of slogging, like four yards here, three yards here, just driving down the field, like 11 play, 10 play drives.

He's a nice piece, but...
Kevin SweeneyGUEST
21:07
Dylan Williamson, not the most efficient guy coming from Towson, kind of a guy that wants to pound it.
Kevin SweeneyGUEST
21:12
You know, it's got to take a lot of tough shots, really effective, tough shot maker, but just relies so heavily on pull-ups.
