In this honest and impactful episode, our coaches discuss what happens when an athlete feels like they've "ruined" their post-show reverse diet. They dive into strategies they use with athletes, how…
All right, everybody.
Welcome to the Pro Physique Code.
Me, Lexi Evan are here, and we are gonna talk about what to do or if you even screwed up your post-show plan.
Yeah.
Screwing up or I've heard people say, "Ugh, I'm so upset with myself.
I failed my reverse diet post-show." Um, I just feel like this is a really good topic to hit on.
I think it's applicable to every competitor out there.
Um, I know we have a lot of people that listen to this podcast as well that have never competed and are interested in competing, and I think this is also a very applicable thing to hear if you're one of those people, too.
Yeah.
And I know the, the reason we wanted to talk... you know, do this topic was a lot for the reverse diet and things like that, but I think a big important part to post-show, as well, is how you handle it mentally, right? How do you handle it if you didn't place the way you wanted to place? How do you handle if you were gonna go do a national show, and maybe that's not in the cards quite yet? Things like that, right? So all that stuff I think is incredibly important to be able to manage post-show.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
I've just had a lot of good conversations with my athletes recently about, you know, some people that have struggled a little bit post-show, and I always like to get them on the phone, like kind of get to the root of, like, why they're really struggling.
And usually it is a lot of times, like, these mental kind of setbacks or I think a lot of people...
Like, I had a conversation with one of my clients last week, and she was first-time competitor, and she's like, "You know, I knew getting into this that the reverse diet was so important." She's like, "I was holding myself to this high standard.
I thought I was gonna nail it." And it was like the first week post-show she had, like t- like one or two days where she slipped up, and she's like, "Feel like I just ruined it." I'm like, "Well, logically, no.
You didn't ruin it if from one to two days." But I see why some people fall into that trap of thinking, "Oh, one or two days I screwed it up, and, you know, what's the point now?"
