This episode offers a 2026 midyear global check-in on crypto policy and focuses on where the conversation is gaining real momentum. It covers tokenization, the US legislative moment around the Clarity…
definitely and it's i think a very crucial time across all fronts i think that's something that we can take away from these different areas that we've talked about and at the end of the day those things matter a lot for also the people that are trying to build products and infrastructure across this borderless technology so now Moving to the product side, because I also think that these conversations are important to have both the technological understanding for the policymakers, but also this policy acumen for the people building.
So my next question is more like for builders, companies, and just institutions in general operating across markets using blockchain technology.
What feels most important to watch right now? And I know that there's multiple things, but we have classification, we have things like licensing, product design, infrastructure treatments, or something else.
Where do you think that people are most likely to get caught off guard in the second half of the year with everything that's happening in the policy scene?
Yeah, I actually don't think people will get caught off guard if they are paying attention.
I think many regulators around the world have done a good job of saying, hey, we're consulting on these issues and we want input.
hey we're thinking about new rules here and we want input um so from my perspective if you're paying attention and believe me we are paying attention um you know you shouldn't get caught off guard because you can see what the general direction of travel is um i i think what what would cause a big change potentially is if there's a big change in an administration.
So, for example, if the UK were to see a big change as Prime Minister Starmer steps down and his replacement steps in, You know, there's a lot to look at there, and that change may mean that the FCA, the Bank of England, and the other regulators there take a new approach to things.
That said, I don't think it's in a new government's interest to totally do a 180, because a lot of people are building businesses and products and infrastructure in reliance on existing regulations, or at least the existing direction of travel of proposed regulations.
