The Pleasure Zone with Milica Jelenic - Diamond Host How niche is your kink? Kink can be deeply personal, and what turns one person on may be completely outside another person’s erotic world. But what…

And why do we do that? Why? Because part of what I love to do here on the pleasure zone is talk about sex and bodies and pleasure and all things that we, you know, that are common and uncommon.

And we look at the psychology and the physiology and the anthropology and sociology and like all these factors, right? I guess that's probably why, even though when I went to university, I wasn't really like planning on doing anything as like a minor study in sexual development and human sexuality.

I didn't plan that, but somehow to get through my courses and to graduate, I just kept taking classes that ended up somehow having, that were categorized in human sexuality.

So that's kind of where part of my journey started, although my journey started truly before that, my curiosity on human sexuality started really young and just developed and became more studied, more scholarly in school.

And if you haven't noticed, not only did I research, but then I took a lot of that research and had it created into The Pleasure Zone, a guide for curious pleasure seekers.

And part of why I put that out there is so that everybody can have an easy access guide that also gives you a lot of to do things that you can just do with yourself and your partner so you can have a better, more fun and playful sex life.

And one of the things that book does is kind of opens the door for to allow you to have more, not only more pleasure in your life, especially moving out of traumas, but also invite you into looking at the world of kink that maybe you've never looked at and look at it from the lens of what contribution could this be to my body? Maybe this could contribute to healing.

So we're going to be looking at a bunch of things in this show today that are very much like a continuation of the book in a way but in a much more specific way right so we're going to look at this not that I'm going to name niche kinks because it's it would be incredibly hard to name niche kinks because they're so niche that the chances of finding somebody with the niche kinks is very very slim I know somebody who has an incredibly niche kink and is a friend of mine and it's so so specific and I have talked about it on this show before, and it actually was sparked.

I ended up becoming friends with this person because of an episode I did well over 10 or 11 years ago called Golden Showers Brings May Flowers.

And as a result, a friend of mine ended up, now a friend of mine ended up writing me an email about that and telling me their backstory about their their kink for their yeah their kink for flowers but also their kink for golden showers and how they kind of go together and there's more to it but it's very niche and it's very it's actually incredibly niche and beautiful so when I look at you know how niche is your kink I think one of the things to look at is, is it a fantasy that you have that's very, that you have as like a repeat fantasy that you're exploring in your mind and it's personal? Is it more in the category of a kink where it's like there's communities involved? It's like a lot of BDSM stuff has communities, like you might go to somewhere where there's parties that you get spanked or you're, you know, everybody's dressed up as ponies and it's pony play.

There's probably a community dedicated to your, it's not that you're all going and dressing up as ponies.

as ponies however what you might be doing is finding that there are a community of people out there that have a very similar interest to you and then there are those who have the highly individual erotic preferences and those highly individual erotic preferences are like the one i mentioned where there's the combination of things that are like the ultimate specific turn on And that those are often key factors to turn on.

And they're actually integral to the real world experience and satisfaction, sexual satisfaction the person can have.

So with fantasies, so we're going to just do a little comparison so you can see.
