Amanda Gibby PetersGuestJessHostWelcome back.
Today, we are talking about the things in our home.
And yes, I'm talking about our pets, I'm talking about our plants, I'm talking about our things.
There are so many things in our homes.
I would imagine you couldn't count them if you had to.
And they all have energy.
So you know me, all we are talking about lately, e- ener- everything is energy.
So in everything we talk about, we can bring in an energetic component to it.
And the thing is that the thing, the things in our home, a lot of them are useful, a lot of them may not be, depending on how many things you have.
A lot of things we could probably easily let go of and not miss them, and I can attest to that because I have had a lot of things.
I have definitely been that person to buy all the things, buy things I don't need, just because I wanted them, because they made me feel happy in the moment to buy them.
They were cute, whatever it was.
And I have had so many things in storage for over a year, well over a year, that I have not needed.
And I am at the point where I just need to clear it out.
Like yes, there are probably some things in storage that I am still wanting to hold onto to save for when I get into a bigger home, when I have a larger space to occupy, and that's fine.
We can keep those things.
But everything that we bring into our home, this pencil that I'm holding up right now, that unless you're watching the video, you can't see, it has energy to it, and let me find something a little bit different.
How about this coupon? I just grabbed this coupon from my little cubby over here on my desk where I'm recording.
It's 50% off of a haircut from a lady that I met at a, um, a place called The Holistic Treehouse, and the energy that this coupon holds...
Well, we could talk a lot about the energy that this coupon holds.
It's taking up space, not a lot of space, but I look at it every single day, so it's definitely taking up mental space for me.
But what is the energy behind this? It could be just the fact that I'm looking at it every day and it's taking up mental space.
It could also be that it-- I remember that experience every time I look at this.
It could also be that, uh, I need a haircut and I haven't booked that haircut yet.
There could also be energetic residue from the person that made this coupon.
And I know you're probably sitting there going, "You're being a little woo-woo, Jess," and I am, but for a very good reason, because everything does hold energy.
Everything does have energy.
Everything does affect us, and all of those things in our home affects our pets, too, sometimes in ways we don't think about.
We do talk on here about how our nervous system, our own physical and mental def- deficiencies, sometimes excesses, can have effects on our pets, that we have-- We've talked about with like Pam Roussel how we have soul contracts with our pets, and it could be that we're helping them in some way in this life.
It could be that they are helping us in some way in this life.
It could be both.
And so there, there is energy being exchanged all the time.
But what we don't often think about is how the things in our home and the way we have things set up in our home is affecting the energy of our home.
And this has been something that has fascinated me for decades, more than 20 years, as you will hear in today's conversation.
I have been a little bit nervous and afraid to explore it, and I think I'm finally at the point, well, I know I'm finally at the point, that I want to explore it.
I'm finally at the point where I, just like with, with our pets, just like with what I'm teaching, I am ready to rewild my life, and that can mean a lot of different things, including changing the way my home feels.
I want-- I don't know about you.
This is a question you need to ask yourself.
How do you want your home to feel? And better is not the answer, as you will hear in today's episode.
But how do you want your home to feel? I want my home to feel relaxing.
I want it to feel like a sanctuary.
I want it to feel like me.
I want it to feel like I live there.
Like if someone else were to walk in after I walk out, they feel me.
They couldn't just come in and live as if it is their place.
It needs to feel like me.
And that sort of authenticity is bold in today's world.
That sort of authenticity is often hard to find the words and feelings for because we have been conditioned to ignore that for so long to...
The only thing popping in my head right now is to live in the matrix, to live as a productive member of society, to hustle, to, to conform, to not cause waves or not make waves, not cause a ruckus.
Like, that is how we have been conditioned to live in this society, and it does not work for us.
I think we started seeing that at the beginning of COVID, and it has persisted because we got a little glimpse of who we actually are.
Some of us did, at least.
And so today, we are going to be talking about feng shui, and this is something that I had not previously thought about bringing on the podcast until, and I will talk about this, um, a, a really random thing happened, and I saw today's guest post about feng shui for pets, and I was like, "Wait, what?" And it clicked in my head, and it made so much sense, and what we talk about today is more profound than I could have imagined.
