"I can tell by looking at the data, the first two Ks, they either had a good run or a bad run." Sydney Marathon week, coach's side. Matt and Ant on why race week drains the coaching battery, how TPP…
I was actually just thinking about this the other day.
Like, at the start of the year, it was you, me, Georgia and Sam just sitting around a coffee table at the hotel for, like, our annual meeting.
And we were like, if...
If everything goes to plan, we'll have two more coaches and maybe an ops person.
And now we've got a team of...
Succeed in that.
Oh, yeah.
I think we've got 12 people coming to this meeting.
Sorry, we've tippled.
Yeah.
We've got a couple of... quote-unquote consultants coming in.
For lack of a
better term.
External opinions.
They'll send you the invoice the next day and you'll be like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
whoa.
We didn't
agree on...
You wanted my ideas? My time is money.
Yeah, but I think it's wild.
Yeah, even with that, like I remember when we were sitting around the hotel for our first quarterly meet, obviously, albeit everything changed a week after that.
And then the last one that we've, or last couple that we've had has been with Jimmy capturing it and like... just brings the whole thing to life and then the vision so that when we ultimately look back on these meetings and obviously do the behind the scenes more of tpp it's it's not just a yeah we're coaches here's a program it's like there's a lot that's gone into the direction of where we want to go and as i say to my athletes there's a method to the madness
Yeah, that's the thing I am most excited for when we have built enough of the behind-the-scenes content and then we start, like, really dropping it for our athletes to see, like, how much thought goes behind not just their programming but like the whole tpp experience um and i think it would shock a lot of let's say our rival businesses who they just offer coaching and then they wonder why we have grown so fast and we're doing what we're doing is like we just do it better and like I'm keen to show that and be like that's the level of detail and thought that we put into it versus they just coach or like some of them don't even mark it and I'm just like okay I'm not
And that's the thing, and I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with that because obviously the approach that we're taking to how we're growing is kind of different to just saying we're a coaching business type thing.
