In the video, I said that I realized healing wasn't something I was doing, and I noticed that the sentence people responded to wasn't actually that one.

I think it's because on the surface, that sentence sounds almost careless, as though doing nothing means not caring, not helping, not showing up.

If I cared, I should do something, say something, offer something, move something forward.

And now I find myself wondering, how often do we confuse movement with care? How often do we believe that if we're not changing something, we're abandoning it? I don't think I ever consciously believed that, but I think I lived as though it were true.

The recognition about healing has started showing up in places that have nothing to do with healing.

I'll notice someone telling me about something difficult, and before they've even finished speaking, part of my mind is already looking for the answer.

Now, sometimes I notice that urge, and instead of following it, I become curious about it.

Who's uncomfortable right now? Them or me? Sometimes the answer surprises me.

Sometimes I realize that the discomfort I'm trying to relieve isn't actually theirs.
