Episode 302 - I'll Crisis You In A Minute

I have one.

We are going to play Villa in the Cup, which was a fun draw.

I think those of us of a certain age always treated that as kind of the derby.

And it's been a while.

But I don't necessarily hate them, I don't think.

I don't know if I'm allowed to say that.

I've got quite a few Villa fans.

They're quite nice people.

But I'm really looking forward to playing them a few times a season because we're due.

So yeah, when that came up at home as well, it should be a tasty little fixture.

It should, shouldn't it? I think it's anathema to some people that you can't, the idea that you can like football and for it to not just be a vehicle of hate towards other people.

But it's entirely possible to just, you know, enjoy it and not have to want to go to Birmingham with your top off and start swinging at the nearest local.

I've tried that.

It doesn't go down well.

It's just, it's all right, isn't it? Like, it's okay to just go to games and not want to fight people or hate the opposition.

Yeah, I think that's a lovely way to start.

I'd say about the sort of 10 minutes before Hull scored on Saturday.

So I think, you know, if we just drew nil-nil here, then it won't ruin all of my favourite football podcasts.

If we can just go through the season and be as nondescript as possible, then we won't have to invite uninformed opinion on us throughout the season.

But we, yeah, we really screwed that pooch.

So I just started watching the Match of the Day highlights and we talked about this offline about the Totally Football show, which is a longtime favorite of mine that clearly is going to become unlistenable as the season goes on.

But there's a lot of, I say a lot, there's some talk about the empty seats in the stadium, but it was sold out, wasn't it? It's just, I don't know what people want from us.
