The first question is, how do you deal with judgment from other mums? The sad thing is there's judgment from people in real life, their judgment from people online.
Judgment comes from every corner, really.
I think you only realize once you become a mom just how judged you become.
As soon as you're pregnant, the judgment starts.
Yeah, that's true.
Where are you giving birth? How are you giving birth? Have you thought about X, Y, and Z? And it's like, shut the fuck up.
Let me enjoy my little fruit app and having fun, being immersed in the excitement of it and leave me alone.
So I don't deal with judgment well, I think.
Yeah.
I think my first slice of, I don't know if I want to call it judgment, but more critique was I remember sharing a photo on my Instagram story and it was of Harry and Luca in their car seats.
It was this really cute one where they were tiny and somebody messaged me and was like, oh, your straps are wrong on the car seat.
But to be fair to the person, they probably thought they were helping me out.
But it was like, in my mind, it was like, you've done something wrong.
Do you know what though? I don't really share that much about Harry anymore.
I spoke about last week how I've joined the You Just Wait mum group.
Yeah.
Unfortunately, even though I hated it so much when I was pregnant.
And I don't know what it is, but there is almost this inherent thing in you to judge people when they do something differently to you, which I fucking hate and I don't know why.
I catch myself doing it sometimes and I have to say to myself, no, everyone's parenting style is different.
Just because you do something a certain way doesn't mean everyone wants to do it that way.
I think that when you're like, for example, we're 18 months into this motherhood thing.
16 months.
Sorry, 18 and 16 months.
And I feel like when you see other mums who are now in the newborn stage, you think, oh, my God, I could help them.
Like you say, they're complaining about sleep and you're like, I wish I could tell them about, for example, Dr. Golley's thing or I wish I could tell them about how to burp.
