What was, um, so going from, like you said, you kind of started off public when you were younger and then, but you also had the private and then you hunted that lease for a while and kind of played that land management game and.

Like you said, I'm pretty sure Chris and I hunted a very similar style growing up.

I lived, we moved, I think I was about four or five at the time when we got a piece of property.

We just lived in a trailer at the time, but we had five acres, but it was a very long and narrow strip and you could really only hunt the back couple acres.

And that's

what I grew up hunting.

But it was just like a...

sitting, hoping and praying during the rut.

Cause everyone baited around there.

And like you said, it gets old pretty quick.

So

what was that transition like back to public? Like what was that first year? Cause I'm sure you learned a ton getting back into it.

so i actually did so this lease i had butted up to a piece of private i mean piece of public um the same one of the pieces that we hunted when i was a kid so i hate to say i did not hunt public until then i really didn't hunt out of state i didn't do any out of state hunting i did hunt basically two or three local pieces of public that that I know so well, they might as well be leases, you know, and, and honestly didn't hunt them near as effective as I do brand new spots that I don't know that well.

Um, so I guess I was hunting some, some public, actually the lease that I got in, the reason I got in that is I was chasing a big buck on public.

And I knew after two years of seeing him that he was spending more time on that little chunk of private that he was, on public.

And I went ahead and told the guys, Hey, if you guys got any openings, let me know.

And the next year they were like, yeah, Hey, we actually, we do need somebody.

I was like, Hey, I'm your guy.

And then I killed that boat the next year.

And they were all like, uh, I see why you want it in.

We should have invited this guy.

Yeah.

He's a good, he was a real good 148 inch eight point.
