One of the myths that I think about a lot is that your coach, your coach will get you to change or that your coach will do something for you.

And I think that like we're working with top coaches all the time and everybody recognizes that the coach actually doesn't get you to do anything.

At the end of the day, the work of transition, transformation is done by the person.

And the work of the coach is to facilitate that, is to help you see the things that you don't see, offer changes that you didn't know you could make or didn't know that you should make.

And I think having a great trusted and trusted means somebody that, you know, has experience and wisdom to be able to be listened to, but also will maintain the confidentiality so that you can be vulnerable and explore spaces that you can only explore with a coach.

I love that as a mindset, because even if you expand that to leadership, it's my leader, my supervisor, my CEO's job, whatever, to uplift me, to give me opportunities, to challenge me.

When really, when we're in the mindset that they can help us facilitate that, when we express interest, when we're earning that, if you will, it's really up to us.

especially these days, to own our own career path, what's important to us, make sure the values are aligned, all that.

today's world where a lot of leaders are very distracted, not that they don't care, but there's just a lot and a lot of change and a lot of things that they're responsible for.

And It's really important for people to take charge of their own well-being and their own

I think that's a lot of also what coaching does is help you understand that the location of agency is internal.

So much of leadership and life and just the complexity of politics makes it seem like agency is happening outside of you.

But it's really when you sort of recognize that you have the agency that you can make the changes that you need to make and get them done.

Yeah, you might like Michael Beckwith's four stages of consciousness, you might be familiar with that, or the lowest stages, you know, life happens to me or things happen to me.

And it's about elevating that consciousness to recognizing that, yeah, we do have more agency than perhaps we think we do.
