Hydration is one of the most overlooked levers in endurance performance — and one of the most punishing when you get it wrong. In this episode, Zoë and TJ unpack why dehydration is so much more than…
Over the next few weeks, we're gonna introduce you to a few other Microcosm coaches on our podcast so you can hear a little bit from them on who they are and what they're about.
My name is Kyle Jones, a- and I became a coach specifically to share my passion and love of running and doing big things.
As a masters athlete and a little bit of an older athlete, I have a passion for doing things that I never once thought that I could do.
And so I want to be a coach to help others pursue their big dreams and goals and do things they never once thought was possible, even at this later stage in their life.
I love to coach specifically masters athletes who have recommitted themselves to achieving their goals, experiencing new endeavors, or undertaking something they never thought was possible, with specifically a passion, a focus, and energy.
I come with a mindset that it's never too late, and I would love my athletes to have that same vision, that same passion.
Where they dive in, and it's all in, and it's, um, it's about a lifestyle, not just a hobby.
As a coach, I love to help my athletes solve two basic problems that I feel like I can do very, very well.
One of those is helping the masters athlete accrue the needed volume and training while staying injury-free through sustainable and durable training programs.
Being a masters athlete myself, I have really have a focus on helping my athletes get to where they wanna go.
I also feel like I'm really, really good at helping my athletes solve the problems of ultra-running beyond just the training.
There are so many other aspects to, to, to trail running and ultra-running, including shoes and packs and vests and gear and poles and nutrition and hydration and strategy.
And I feel like I am really good at simplifying all of that, 'cause all of those small things add up to be a pretty significant factor come race day.
So I, um, whatever the dream or goal, I wanna share the mindset of it's never too late to be who you are and do the things that you want to do, because I'm super high energy.
My athletes are people that, people that, that go all in, that, that, that put all their energy and focus and stoke and attention into their training so that they can accomplish the things that they wanna accomplish and live the life they want to live.
