Send us Fan Mail Artificial intelligence is already changing how educators plan, teach and support students — but using AI well does not mean…
We'll start all the way back at our first episode when Daniel Ropp joined me to talk about using spicy AI prompts for lesson planning.
Think of it as a, like I said, a super assistant.
You could also think of it as a super brain, right? Like just a, a brain that's plugged into all the information.
I love acronyms.
They really help us remember things.
I'm gonna use an acronym called SPICE.
The acronym stands for specificity, purpose, inclusion, context, and expectations.
So the idea in that clip is that AI is only as useful as the directions we give it, and that came up again and again.
You do not have to become an AI expert overnight, but you should learn how to explain what you need, what you are teaching, who your students are, and what kind of output will actually help you.
So when you're using AI and you're having to write prompts, think about those things and put it in that SPICE format, and you'll get better results and things that are actually useful to you.
