101226 ~ Tecumseh Center for the Arts! - Amy Slupe

Tell everyone where the TCA is and a little bit about it.

Yeah.

And, uh, j- you know, its history, how it all came about.

Yeah.

Well, we're in the heart of Tecumseh, Michigan, which is, oh my gosh, just the most adorable little town, um, so a great reason to come, I mean, just for the, for the city of Tecumseh alone.

Beautiful, historic buildings, and great boutique shopping, and wonderful restaurants.

You know, it's a great experience to come to Tecumseh.

But yeah, the Tecumseh Center for the Arts has been there where we're in our 46th year, um, and just a community home, um, to so many local organizations, arts organizations.

But then, yeah, having the privilege of being able to host this national touring season, it, uh, you know, it's a 572 seat house, so it's, it's not too big, it's not too small, and the sound in the auditorium is actually really incredible.

Um, people don't know this, but when the sound was originally designed for the auditorium, um, our engineer used a Bose system, and Bose actually brought engineers from all over the country to come to the TCA to hear and, and to experience what Joe had put into our auditorium-

Ooh, wow

...

so that they could try to duplicate it other places.

So-

What was the magic that, that he was-

I d- he's ...

Joe, Joe is with, um, Vision Performance Group, and just incredible, a just incredible, um, designer, engineer.

And so he, he knew the secret sauce to making it right.

But you know, we, we have great sound, and there's not a bad seat in the house, and it's a charming town.

And you know what? We're pretty cool.

Come hang out with us.

[laughs] And it's only 25 minutes, um, 25 miles-

Yeah

... rather, from Ann Arbor.

Yeah.
