This is mean Flanagan back, uh, when I fir- well, I first fell in love with Mike Flanagan and with Hush and then Gerald's Game, and I've been a huge fan ever since, although I've, you know, a little more realistic than I used to.

But I think knowing that Mike Flanagan is such a constant reader and that he carried around a copy of Gerald's Game in his pocket for years, I don't think it's a stretch to say that this feels like an unofficial adaptation of The Reaper's Image, which is also from Skeleton Crew.

This is one that I used to read in the grocery store when my mom would be walking around, and I would go over to the book section and I, if Skeleton Crew was there, I would read it, 'cause it's, like, six or seven pages long.

It's just that it doesn't really go anywhere else, you know? But The Reaper's Image is about a haunted mirror, and it is kept in a secret attic, or it's, like, kept away from the public because one out of 100 people will see a tiny little black spot in it and then disappear, and it's so awesome.

And I was a little bit wary about spoilers with Weapons just because that is such a spoiler-heavy film and, like, you really wanna go into it without knowing what's going on.

Like, it doesn't, it's not found footage, but it's got this kind of media vibe to it because it's a brother and a sister.

This mirror has destroyed their family years ago, and they've been estranged ever since, and the sister is trying to prove that the mirror is haunted, so she's got this elaborate system of video cameras.
