Janet EricksonGuestLizzy JensenHostYes, I am excited for the topic that we have to talk about, especially because you're the one that's going to be talking about it.
We are talking all about motherhood and the implications of motherhood and the social impact of motherhood, both on society and on children.
And where we want to take this conversation, we talked a little bit beforehand about The impact on the mother herself.
I think we all kind of know it's really great when children are raised by a great mom for the child and for society.
What I don't think we talk about enough is what is the benefit to the woman? Is this just something that we do to sacrifice for humankind? Or is it actually good for us as well? And does it make us happier or not? And does it make us more connected or not? And I'm excited to talk about this for very personal reasons, which I've already talked about on this podcast.
For the sixth time after a break of eight years, which is wild and I didn't see coming.
But I love motherhood so much and my husband loves being a dad and we love our kids.
And I've talked about this in the other podcast, but a couple of years ago, he kind of turned to me after feeling ironically that he was almost too old when our child was born eight years ago.
He turned to me just a couple of years ago and said, wouldn't it be fun to have another one?
Like how fun would this be for us and for our kids? And, of course, a lot of sacrifice.
And, of course, starting over is tricky and very challenging when maybe you feel like you found your freedom, you know, after all the years of raising children.
