In this episode, I cover the biggest mistake a lot of men make and the reason why they're not lean: they never truly commit to getting lean. They start trying to bulk and build muscle too quickly…

And this is why it's so important that you actually go through this process first before going into a process of trying to gain muscle afterwards.

So the idea that they think that they need to go and build muscle first doesn't really make sense.

I'll post some results on the screen right now of guys that we've actually dieted down.

And you look at their physiques and think, wow, that guy must have built a load of muscle.

And when you remove all the stubborn areas and all the fat, you actually look way better than what you think.

It's just at the moment, it's actually hidden under body fat, which is realistically why it's so important to get rid of that fat first before you go into the next stages of trying to build more muscle.

OK, a leaner guy, you know, guys that are like even like 60, 65 kilos look absolutely jacked because if they've got a low level of body fat, they will appear that they look much bigger.

Like you look at guys that are like that weight and they look like they're like these 80, 85 kilo guys because they've got really good shape and really good muscle definition, even though they haven't necessarily got loads of mass.

So it's much smarter to go through that process to actually look significantly better and more athletic by actually getting leaner first.

People don't realize this, that their body's not really ready to build muscle until you've actually got lean first.

In terms of hormonally, in terms of how our body's going to work day to day, everything just improves significantly.

Your insulin sensitivity improves, which basically means that your body's able to use carbohydrates efficiently.

And you're actually able to use them towards building muscle instead of actually gaining fat.

If you're incredibly insulin resistant, all that's going to happen is you're going to start to store way more fat.

And that's not anything to do with insulin, but it's just the fact that if we are a lower body fat percentage, we're not aromatizing, which means that we're less aromatization, which is basically our body's conversion from testosterone to estrogen.
