We were started by a nurse who had von Willebrand's disease, which is the most common inheritable bleeding disorder.
And so she started the chapter as a way to provide resources for individuals who have bleeding disorders.
And she was a pioneer in the country, particularly when it came to getting von Willebrand's disease diagnosed.
so von willebrand's disease is the most common bleeding disorder what other bleeding disorders are there
so the one that most people if they've heard about a bleeding disorder have heard about is hemophilia so that one is not the most common but it is the most well known because it has we've known about its existence for a really long time it used to be called the royals disease So, for example, Queen Victoria had hemophilia in her family.
