But is there anything that you think people should be paying attention to that maybe they aren't or hasn't been as apparent so far, like, you know, in the week and a half that we've been in it?
I mean, I don't know that we're going to see something that's just truly shocking that's going to come out and surprise a bunch of people.
But I think if you're going to events, you really need to just be planning for what I would consider to be like the big four right now, which would be any Eleanor deck.
So Amber Emerald, I mean, they're just able to... take over the board really quickly, Questa 20.
The Amber Emerald control lists, the core of all of them are either Circle of Life to get out the Prince Philip combo or Under the Sea, so having a plan for those.
The Amethyst Steel variants, so that would be like the shift with Maleficent Diablo or the bots version with Syndrome and the big bots.
And then the fourth pillar, I believe, are kind of like your mid-range or steel decks.
So that'd be Amber Steel, which game plan can vary a little bit, but right now is fairly straightforward.
And we're going to play Singers, we're going to challenge down your guys, we're going to play a Draw Engine in either Pleakley or... aerial to continue to give value or our amethyst variants so there's ruby amethyst there's amber there's amber amethyst um anything that just has that game plan i'm gonna play bodies and i'm gonna exert your stuff and i'm gonna pop a guidebook i'm gonna play a demona i'm gonna play dumbo these are those would be kind of like the pillars of the format right now so have a game plan in mind for those types of archetypes
okay all right and i know i think it was humble and rmb uh they both have guides out for their respective decks that they've been working on um over on metafy i assume
Yes, they both have it on Medify.
You can also subscribe to the Maelstrom Discord and any subscribers to the Maelstrom Discord get access to those guides.
Oh, nice.
Perfect.
Yeah, I'll make sure that the link to that is in the notes for this interview as well.
Okay, so real quick before we finish up.
I'm curious about your perspective on something that has really hit the game and the community hard recently.
And some people have different perspectives because they've played different games before and they've seen this kind of thing.
But I'm interested in your perspective in what you think the huge influx of the collector market, I won't reference it by a derogatory term, the collector market has had you know on the supply of the cards on the game itself you know how how much it's changed like community aspect um you know because we we've hit you know the last set or two um you know especially with the the introduction of the toy story stuff you know there's been such a huge influx of those people um and it seems like it is impacting the game but i wanted to get your opinion on it and see like from your perspective what you thought
So my short answer in the long term, it's a good thing.
My long answer is we've lived through periods of this before.
Anybody who was around in set one, set two, set three remembers it was impossible to get access to physical cards.
you could not find it in any lgs you could not find it in any box store and if you did it was either double or triple msrp i at the time was uh lucky enough to be working near one of the largest game stores in america called through the decades in kentucky um and they had an influx of lorcona product but i was paying like 300 a box for just to play the game
so like it is now yeah
Yeah.
