D23

Not much Frozen lately, but Frozen is still a top contender.

When Disney did their D23 thing, I saw the new Frozen footage and I showed that to Satine and she was just like over the moon.

She wanted to rewatch it again and again.

It's like five minutes of just the two sisters post-wedding in there.

All right, gang.

We are headed... out from day one D23 this is kind of the general D23 podcast whatever panels presentations special things that I go through it's probably going to be a mix of both um Like those will be, depending on what they are, will be their own show versus this is just going to be a hodgepodge of content throughout the day,

throughout the weekend.

I don't know.

Damn, there's hella crows everywhere.

Yeah, yesterday we ate at the Great Maple with some family that's also down here, not for the convention.

The thing that's kind of cool about D23 this year is they already have...

the presentations are not at the convention center.

My name is Adam Bankers, and I'm here as always with the wonderful Vanessa, and this week we are so excited to be breaking down the ultimate D23 experience.

Vanessa and I were at D23 experiencing all the big moments, all the things that happened, and it was...

I'm calling it, Vanessa, a chaotic whirlwind because it felt like we were there.

We were there for a decent amount of time, but it felt like two seconds.

All you have to do, you just need a Vanessa in your life.

This is what, this is really the moral of the story.

But yes, we're so excited to be breaking down our D23 show, what we loved, what we were hoping for, all that kind of good stuff.

Yeah, right? Yeah.

Have you seen, so speaking of Marvel movies, we got the major casting announcement for the X-Men film at D23, which we all anticipated.

Have you seen the latest casting announcements? Is it that kid from Gen V? Yes, yes.

yeah uh am from gen v sam from from gen v yeah uh his his name happens to be uh asa german

uh played sam and gen v and he's playing angel came cast as angel which from my perspective i'm number one i'm very happy about the casting i think he's a really good pick to play that character um but I'm happy they're casting the character.

That, to me, is more important.

We know when they announced the initial cast up on the stage at D23, there were some interesting characters they chose to announce, right? We got Mr.

Sinister, which is going to be the villain.

They got to do something about the little – Not the buffet, but the food court area downstairs.

And when you hear the D23 announcements about what's going to happen with Figment and Imagination, is the Dream Finder coming back? What's happening? You've got to think, The Land, you're on deck.

Yeah, yeah.

Don't become the Tomorrowland Terrace.

i think i feel like it does get a lot of love during the day i do recall being there even in recent months or years where the line was out of it during the day um so maybe it's getting more love during that time but uh not to for everyone to steal our idea but the night time is where it's at for that attraction i think

Yeah, agreed.

And I think something that came up newsworthy while we were there or during D23, I don't know when it happened exactly that they said that they were going to take a lot of the lighting fixtures out of the center of world celebration, future world, where the Fountain of Nations once was.

I think Mama Dillo mentioned that she missed the Fountain of Nations.

We'll talk about that today as well, because now it's coming back.

That was the other big Epcot D23 announcement.

So all of this is to say, Figment wasn't even part of that.

You know, at the time, they didn't see that as part of the vision.

But I really think the Parks audience should have an eye on Lorcana here because it just got announced that they are the sponsor for the upcoming Festival of the Arts.

Right.

And Lorcan is clearly important to Disney because they spent so much time joking about it and mentioning it at D23.

It's growing fast and they didn't necessarily acknowledge it so much in the beginning.

That would be great.

You know, we've met, well, I met someone at D23.

who, I mean, she was originally from Seattle, but was a Club 33 member in Florida before they moved to Florida, like before then.

And I was like, wow.

So, whatever.

It's all good.

Because they did all the news at D23, although it wasn't that much.

There wasn't that much.
