Number one, a grandmother or even a mother who has had cancer is not a strict contraindication in any way, shape, or form.

for the patient who's in front of you to take HRT, okay? Don't go decline this patient, okay? The patient's probably, they're asking this question because they're probably already kind of expecting a potential no.

And unfortunately, if you tell her no, you're also spreading, dare I say, the misinformation that, that her story is accurate and that you in fact cannot use HRT for your entire life because some family member had a history of breast cancer.

And so unfortunately, not only are you potentially doing a disservice to that potential patient, but you're also doing a potential disservice to many of her other family members.

Hey, you know, I just want to let you know that I went and saw somebody and they said no.

What do we get into? I think it's helpful to kind of you know, get into the mechanism a little bit with patients, right? We don't want to go full granular on them.

But, you know, describing a family history of breast cancer in a grandmother or even your mother is not a contraindication to hormone therapy.

So what matters the most here? Well, her personal history, like has she ever had cancer before, especially something like breast cancer? If no, that's great.
