Damien Farrar-HockleyHostthe season has begun and it's a bit of a weird one and a bit of a disappointing one but but not a completely disastrous start I guess Stevenage came to Adams Park kicking off the season in the Carabao Cup and it is they who are progressing to the second round 2-1 on the night the visitors opened the scoring just before the half hour mark we'll talk about some defending stuff and But Ewan Henderson with that lovely newly shaved head got us back into the game.
But then Stevenage, the bastards, they scored with pretty much the last kick of the game or last head of the game, whatever.
Obviously, the first chance to see our boys in some sort of competitive action.

the similarities to last season in that we bossed big parts of the game, failed to win it, didn't take our chances.

And what was really nice is over those pre-season friendlies against Portsmouth and against Ipswich in particular, You've started to see the identity that Duff wants to play with.

Some really nice passages of play using triangles down the wings and getting the ball in the box early.

Problem is, there's no point putting the ball in a fucking box if there's no one in there to put the ball in the net.

I don't know if Fink's got an injury, but, you know, Tezgal obviously not fit, which didn't really have an outlet.

But other than that, I thought, you know, there were some real promising signs, particularly going forward.
