It was far from perfect, wasn't it? And Leighton Orient weren't very good, particularly for the first 60 minutes, but it was exactly what we needed.

you know we were we were quite critical of the choice to uh to appoint tom last week and i believe rightly so but you know you have to give him an awful lot of credit because that took a lot of balls to to do what he did and mix it up as much as he did you know he changed the formation changed the way that we wanted to play um And I thought it worked really, really well.

I thought there were three or four times where they literally cut us open really, really easily through the... centre and midfield and that can't keep happening against better opposition we'll get caught out but for a starting you know for a starting point I thought that was very very good so good to see Wareham get on the score sheet you know we've said so many times we need a forward and how many times have you seen you know a forward who's scored loads of goals moves to a new club and then doesn't score any and every game that he goes without scoring a goal the pressure builds the pressure builds in fact they got one in his first game then he got another one against Leighton Orient can only be a positive thing he's going to go on to be something very very special I think On the game itself, it was quite exciting, wasn't it? But I think it was exciting because both teams just thought, fuck this, we know we can't defend, so we're just going to throw caution to the wind, and they really went for it.

I'm told that Dan Harvey to score a header before was a special with, I think it was Bet365, and it was 100-1, and half of Wickham got on it.

but the most impressive thing you know despite all that and despite what went on on the pitch was the togetherness and the real passion that they showed six weeks ago we would have we would have drawn that game or we would have lost it we'd have thrown it away And they seemed absolutely freaking determined by hook or by crook to get through that it was untidy it was messy it was horrible they were knackered there was feet dangling everywhere there was boots being balls being hoofed everywhere they were getting in each other's way.

So, you know, a step in the right direction, but still a huge amount to do, I think.
Whilst I was delighted with the result, I came away from that game thinking that was two bang average teams and we were just a little less shit than them, basically.
