I mean, uh, since we last chatted, your duck opener came and went, so tell me about it.

We'd done a lot of deer hunting together last fall, and he kind of, you could tell he got the hankering for it, so.

And once that boat motor came over, I said, "What do you think about this thing?" He's, "That thing's pretty sick." And then, uh, we finally got out and tested it together after a couple of days of tweaking it and making it work, and got out, put ourselves in some cattails, that little area where I've been eyeing up.

But like I said, you can't get in there with an outboard, and it's a pretty long kayak ride, um, in there, so you know, that, that motor just made it all the easier.

We got ourselves tucked up into some marsh grass, you know, a little, kind of a little dip in the marsh grass, so hid us in pretty good, cattails all behind us, and then to the right was, like, the opening of the creek that goes up a little bit further, which is a, again, like impassable without any kind of mud motor or a surface drive.

It's kind of cool in the morning, 'cause there's guys that hunt it, and they, they did a pile of shooting.

So, like, to hear, hear all that shooting going on and see Aiden being like, "Oh," like- Sounds close or, you know, it's far and just like the whole sky was just rolling with, with shots that morning, so which was cool.

And, uh, the first bird that we saw actually came right up from behind us, clean through the two of us.

And, uh, so we didn't get a shot at it, but then we had another, had a drake and a hen woody come in and we got, we got both of them and I was pretty excited to go and pick him up, 'cause I knew he was a nice one.

As soon as he turned away from me, I saw his head, I'm like, "Oh, wow, that's a nice bird." And it's funny, like of all the, all the years that I've been hunting in Ontario, that's the, the nicest wood duck that I've shot in Ontario.

Like I've never had one fully, you know, with, with all those feathers, like all that color and he was just a perfect bird and so I, yeah, I put a really good shot on him, so you know, which I can't argue with.
