So like I said, this movie has found footage and the movie starts showing us our main character, Aaron.
Aaron is answering an ad that he found online for $1,000 a day to film a guy around his house.
He doesn't really know all the details as to why he's filming this guy, but you know, $1,000 for a day of filming sounds like an easy deal.
He starts driving up to the mountains, just kind of vlogging himself and his journey.
He saw on the ad it said discretion is appreciated, so he's like, hmm, okay.
And he's basically just narrating himself talking to the camera, hoping that some nice 40-year-old woman will be responsible for the ad and that maybe he can get lucky.
Maybe she'll be really into him.
You know, just kind of having like a funny dialogue by himself in the car.
But clearly he's like a little nervous, not knowing what to expect from the day.
He drives through a really cute small town and passes by at Gregory Lake, which this lake will come back later in the narrative.
It's going to give him quite the headache later, as a matter of fact.
If you know, you know.
But Aaron pulls up to this person's house.
Again, he doesn't know the gender of this person.
He doesn't know their name or their age.
He knows jack about shit, as I learned from my good friend Ash Williams in the last movie, Army of Darkness, that we covered together.
But anyway, this house is in a very heavily wooded area of the mountains.
So Aaron gets out the car.
He rings the bell.
Nobody's answering.
Nada.
He waits for quite a few minutes.
He calls the number associated with the ad, but no answer and no voicemail.
Awesome, super awesome way to start your work day.
So he's feeling really defeated, as anyone would in this situation, but he looks over the side of the house and he notices that there is an axe stuck in a tree trunk, as if someone had been cutting logs not too long ago.
