Buying a business can accelerate growth. But who keeps it running when the owner leaves? I'm Guy Coffey, and in this episode of The Franchise Scale-Up Show, I'm joined by Guy Bartlett to look beyond…
Guy BartlettGuestGuy CoffeyHostIf someone's never done an acquisition, when you say, like, I bought a $2.7 million revenue business and didn't really need to put any injection of cash into it, that brings up questions.
You know, for me, is that all seller carry? Or how do you do that? How do you approach people? But we'll get into that.
From a broader perspective, what's the difference between building and acquiring that you see, whether it's a business acquiring, whether it's a business in that same category, a competitor or someone that's something that's adjacent.

What I mean is you can't possibly organically grow a business at the speed that you can through acquisition.

I always say this to any business owner, whether it's a franchise owner, whether it's a business owner, it doesn't really matter.

What's your life goal? What's your personal goal? Why are you doing this? What are you trying to achieve? And for many people, a franchise is a really good option because it gives them a structure, a system, a method.

And you and I both know that, sadly, it's not always as easy as that because the market and the world doesn't always make it that easy.
